Helen (McFadyen)'s Story
Helen (McFadyen) Lowman, formerly of 69th Street, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Elderwood at Wheatfield. She was 85. She was born in Rothesay, Scotland on May 18, 1931, a daughter of the late Daniel and Georgina (Mercer) McFadyen. She has resided in Niagara Falls since she was 18.
A member of St. John de LaSalle R.C. Church, Mrs. Lowman had many interests. She loved traveling, crocheting, reading, shopping and a good garage sale. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren, Sean and Brett Delles and Angie Sullivan.
Mrs. Lowman retired from Nabisco Shredded Wheat in 1995 after 21 years of dedicated service.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harrison I. Lowman, in 2005; her son, Paul Lowman; siblings, John, Daniel, William and David McFadyen; Georgina Welles; and Janet Bradley.
She is survived by two children, Donna (Lowman) Delles (Robert) of Niagara Falls and Gregory Sullivan of Youngstown; a sister, Ann MacFarlane; her three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday from 3-7 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 AM. The interment will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elderwood at Wheatfield or to Niagara Hospice.
