HAROLD J. "HARRY" GREENWALD age 79, passed away on May 10, 2016 in Aurora, OH. Born on November 7, 1936 in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Frank B. Greenwald and Ina (Malcolm) Greenwald. He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1954 and attended University of Buffalo. Harry was employed by Kimmins Contracting Corp. of Kenmore, NY and Tampa, FL and later by Bianchi Industrial Services Corp. of Syracuse, NY. He served in the United States Army National Guard from 1956 to1965 as a Sergeant First Class. He was a member of the Niagara Falls Community Mission Board of Directors, and formerly belonged to the LaSalle Masonic Lodge #1049 and the Niagara Club. He served as Commodore of the LaSalle Yacht Club in 1974, where he was a member since 1962.
While living in Youngstown, Harry was active in the community, serving on the Town of Porter Master Plan Implementation Committee and the Town of Porter Park Committee. He enjoyed flower gardening, photography and researching his family's ancestry.
He is survived by his former wife, Trudi Lautz of Tampa, FL and their two daughters; Kendra Kovalycsik (Michael) of Aurora, OH and Karen Stowers (Peter, deceased) of Tampa, FL; and six grandchildren; Sara, Justin and Christian Kovalycsik and Sara, Porter and Julia Stowers. He is also survived by his siblings Isabel (late Vincent) Shaffer of Lake Mary, FL; Kenneth (Wanda) (late Ann) of Ransomville, Norman (Gwen) of Greenville, SC; and David (Sharon) of Venice, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and his dear friend and companion, Quain Weber of Youngstown.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Harry from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the DeJohn Funeral Home, 12811 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at that location at 4:00 p.m. A second Celebration of Life service will be planned for a later date in Youngstown, NY.
