Gary Alan's Story
Gary Alan Greenman, 69, a lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2016. He was born in Niagara Falls on September 25, 1947, a son of the late Roy A. and Alice M. (Taylor) Greenman.
Gary attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational School. He served in the United States Army from 1969 until 1971. After his honorable discharge, he served in the National Guard for 6 years and began his career as a welder with Union Carbide and Carbon Graphite. Gary was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting and baking (especially cookies), but most importantly he loved his family and his dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Barbara (May) Greenman; two children, Charlene Wilgosz and Jason Greenman; four step-children, Colleen (late Gary) Petrishin, Steve Lester and Richard (Rhonda) Lester, all of Niagara Falls and Mark Lester of Florida. He is also survived by two siblings, William A. (Wesley) Greenman and Gail (Sam) Gariano; two special nieces, Tracey (Mark) Scalzo and Kari Gariano; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Saturday from 1-5 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank Roswell Park and Mt. St. Mary's Hospital for the wonderful care they've given to Gary. Flowers gratefully declined.
