Ernest B. Polley, of North Tonawanda, passed away on September 13th at Niagara Hospice House, after a prolonged illness. He was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada on January 5th, 1951. He was predeceased by his Wife, Jackie M. Polley and his parents, Ernest H. and Josephine E. Polley.
He is survived by his partner, Debra Hall of North Tonawanda; a brother, Dale (Laura) Polley of Gastonia, NC; sisters, Ernice Schiro of Niagara Falls and Gail Chopp (Edward) of Billings, MT; a son, Mathew (Lisa) Polley of McKinney, TX; a daughter Misty Rimmen of North Tonawanda; a grandson Brandon; granddaughters Alyssa, Violet, and Dillan; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Ernest became a US Citizen in 1978. He retired from Washington Mills after 42 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1720 in Bliss, NY, where he serviced as 2nd Vice Commander for 15 years, and was a life member of Amvets Post #1 in Cuba, NY. He was also a longtime member of Elks #346 and served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed construction and remodeling projects, and was an avid golfer.
The Family will receive friends at the LANE FUNERAL HOME. 8622 Buffalo Ave, Niagara Falls on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. There will be a private burial at Acacia Park Cemetery. Donations may be made, in Mr. Polley's name, to Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Niagara Hospice House in Lockport.
