Born in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Louis and Mildred (Stenzel) Werth. A resident of the Town of Wheatfield, he entered into rest peacefully at his residence. Donnel attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School. He was formally employed at NOCO, Midland Asphalt Corp, Field Base Operations at Niagara Falls Airport, and Empire Converters. Donnel was an active member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company for 55 years, and enjoyed fishing, camping and yard work. Predeceased by his wife, Sharlene "Sherry" (Ensminger) Werth on August 28, 2006. They were married May 26, 1962. Survived by three children, Lisa (Scott) Munro of Lewiston, Todd (Michelle) Werth of Boardman, OH and Timothy Werth of Gasport; grandchildren, Cory Draper, Kaitlyn Munro, Kelsey (Casmir) Krul, Amanda Werth, Megan Werth, Benjamin Werth and Mary Catherine; brother in law, Roy Ensminger; and nieces, Nancy Ensminger, Diane Ensminger-Spirek and Lynda Ludwig. Visitation will be at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by Pastor Michael A. Keicher, on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Johnsburg Fire Company, or the SPCA.
