David R.'s Story
David R. Winters passed away on March 9, 2017 after a 25 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was the son of the late Russell and Dorothy Winters. He was born on August 22, 1951 in Niagara Falls.
David graduated from LaSalle Senior High School class of 1969. He was an over-the-road tanker driver for F.B.C. Chemical Company for many years until Multiple Sclerosis forced his retirement in 1996.
David was a fan of the Buffalo Sabres and the Seattle Sea Hawks because, as he said, he liked the Sea Hawks' logo. He was a great baseball fan and had played for different teams in the Niagara Falls Tavern Softball League. He enjoyed the offbeat humor of South Park and knew all the episodes.
David is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Ladd Hudac of Sarasota, Florida; and by nephews, Court and Damon Hudac; his loving cargivers, David, Priscilla and Davidia Payne; and many close friends.
David donated his body to the U.B. Medical School to further the research of Multiple Sclerosis.
A gathering in his memory will take place this summer at the Lake on a date to be announced.
