Concetta M.'s Story
Concetta M. (Pitarresi) Longo, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on June 4, 2017 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Rosalia (Giannone) Pitarresi.
Concetta was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. For many years, Connie worked as a cook at various local restaurants including alongside her sister Nina at her restaurant, Nina's Coffee Shop in Nagara Falls. Connie was a longtime member and active volunteer at the John Duke Center. She was an outstanding baker and had a love for animals and crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Longo was predeceased by her husband James Longo. She is survived by her two children, John (Peggy) Longo and Constance Ridgeway; five grandchildren, Robert Ridgeway, Jamie Sullivan, Nicholas Longo, Kimberly Woehrel and Kaci Davis, seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two sisters and two brothers, Frances Scricco, Nina Trincanati, John Pitarresi and Murphy Pitarresi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 7th from 3-5 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will follow at 5 PM. Interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
