Anthony Thomas Tripi, 90 a former Niagara Falls resident and longtime employee of the DuPont Company, passed away on April 28, 2016 at the Amethyst Arbor senior living community in Peoria, AZ. Born September 11, 1925 in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Frank and Natalia (Civiletto) Tripi.
Tony graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School in June of 1943 and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in November of that year, serving until his honorable discharge in May of 1946. He then joined DuPont, working there for many years until his retirement. Tony was also a longtime member of the Elks Lodge in Niagara Falls.
On June 29, 1946, Tony married Anna C. Dokken at the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Tripi predeceased him on November 23, 2003.
Mr. Tripi is survived by three sons, Michael A. Tripi of Goodyea, AZ, Anthony C. (Janice) Tripi of Buckeye, AZ, Charles R. (Pamela) Tripi of Orange, CA; and was predeceased by one son, Frank (Kathleen of Lewiston, NY) Tripi. He is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a niece, Mary Terese (Gary) DeVantier. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Carl Tripi; and one sister, Theresa (late David) Paonessa.
Private services and burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.
