William's Story

William Julian Stone entered peacefully into heaven at his Niagara Falls residence, while under the care of his loving wife and Niagara Hospice.
William was a Vietnam veteran, serving with honors and received many metals for his bravery. He was employed at APP Pharmaceutical, Grand Island, in the warehouse and as a truck driver, retiring in 2013. William loved history, classical music, going for long walks, enjoyed good food, wine, the Casino, but most of all the time spent with his grandchildren and family.
Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Dolores (Watroba-Delvecchio) Stone; step-children, Denise (Robert) Noworyta, Jeanine (Gregory) Gerbec and Lisa DeVantier; grandchildren, Robert and Joshua Noworyta, Nicole and Anthony Gerbec and Sara DeVantier; sisters, Pat (Mario) Grasso, Sandy Stone and Kathleen Labus; brother, David (Joanne) Stone; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Julia (Jendraszek) Stone; step-son, Robert Delvecchio; and brother, Ronald Stone.
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Services on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, followed with military honors at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
