William R. Woodley, 56, of Youngstown, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Arline (Froats) Woodley.
Bill was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School. He had a strong work ethic and was a great support to his friends and family. He began working at the age of 14 delivering newspapers to numerous homes, as well as mowing lawns. He currently was employed as an electrician for over 30 years at the Niagara Falls Board of Education, and also owned and operated Expert Lawn Care, Inc.
Bill enjoyed vacationing in Florida and spending time with his family. He also looked forward to his annual fishing trip with his friends and jet skiing in Georgian Bay, Canada, with his kids. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Chicago Blackhawks, but above all, he adored being with his first granddaughter, Amaya Mae Benton, and his dog, Bentley.
Mr. Woodley is survived by his wife, Sharon (Scrinzi) Woodley, who he married May 5, 1990; his beloved children, Alyssa (Drew) Benton, William R. Woodley II and Kali Woodley; his granddaughter, Amaya Mae Benton; his siblings, Jane (Chuck) Pickens, Judith Auzina, Frank (Cris) Woodley, George (Judy) Woodley, David (Helen) Woodley, Linda Woodley and John Woodley; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 12th from 3-8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Saturday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Association or the Cleveland Clinic Transplant Unit. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
