Wendy Wells

June 12, 1957 - November 20, 2018

Wendy Wells Unexpectedly, our beloved Wendy joined her late husband, Robert (2007) and her beloved father, Ronald I. (1968) in a better place.
Wendy is survived by her dear sons, Douglas B. Castile III (Erica) and their children, Abigail and Kaeson, as well as Christopher R. Castile (Megan) and their children, Christopher Jr., Siobhan, Willow, Natasha, Seth and Luke. Wendy is also survived by her mother, Juanita E. (Farmer) MacCarl and her brother, Ronald Cameron (Barbara) MacCarl, along with many other relatives and friends.
In about 1970, Juanita and her friend, Barbara Shedd (2015), decided to combine households. This enabled each of them to return to college to obtain degrees so that as single parents, they could support and educate their children. This became a wonderful joint family which includes Jonathan (Marianne) Shedd, Jennifer (Robert) DeVito and Rebecca (Barry) Greenberg and their families. This (predicted) two year venture lasted until Barbara died in 2015.
Wendy graduated from LaSalle High School and St. Bonaventure University. She enjoyed a long career in banking.
All of the girls and both mothers were Girl Scouts and Leaders. The family hosted foreign students through the American Field Service.
The family, after the mothers graduated, were fortunate to have travelled to Europe, got re-acquainted with some Girl Guides who they had hosted in their home. One summer, after purchasing a travel trailer, the three girls, Cameron and their mothers embarked on a 9,000 mile trip throughout the USA and Canada.
After her marriage to Bob, they enjoyed trips to Mexico and to Florida for Bike Week. They spent many summer weekends in our own area, touring on their Harley.
We, Wendy's family, are sad at her passing away at a comparatively young age, yet we are so blessed to have so many wonderful memories and to have each other.
A brief Remembrance Service will be on December 8 at 4 PM, at First United Methodist, 8210 Buffalo Ave. A coffee hour, a get-together, will follow in the church hall.
Wendy will be laid to rest in Riverdale Cemetery beside her beloved "Aunty Bobbie."

I am saddened to learn of Wendy's passing. I have many great memories of Wendy and her brother Cameron and the rest of their combined family from my high school and college days. I will remember her always as a friendly and kind person, who always welcomed me into her family's home back in the day. May she rest in peace.

To Juanita, Cameron, and the entire MacCarl/Shedd and Wells Families-

I am shocked and saddened to learn the news of Wendy's untimely passing. I've known her since youth, being in school and concert/marching band with Cameron and then reconnecting with her, as my banker, when I moved back to NF in 2004 and she helped me finance my home equity loan. I kept tabs on the whole family through Barbara and Juanita, as County retirees. Such a GOOD " salt of the earth" person. Wendy was an easy spirit. My heart and prayers go out to all of you. So sorry for your loss.

We’re so sorry to hear of Wendy’s passing. Our deepest condolences to the entire family.
I remember lunches with Wendy in the home across the street from Cayuga Drive school eating grilled cheese sandwiches with ketchup made with love by Juanita.

My thoughts and prayers are with the MacCarl and Shedd families. Connected by AFS, there were many times we would hang out at the MacCarl's house where Wendy and Becky were unofficial chaperones. RIP Wendy, I am glad that we were able to reconnect through Facebook after so many years.
