Sheldon G. Butson, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. He was 83.
He was born in Lexington, Virginia on June 30, 1934 and received his teaching degree from Michigan State University. He married Tina Wiebe on June 14, 1958 and they remained happily married for 59 years until his passing.
Mr. Butson taught in the Niagara Falls school system for 25 years, teaching 5th and 6th grades at Harry F. Abate, Niagara Street, LaSalle Middle School, 66th Street and 99th Street Schools. He loved golfing, bowling and going to the casino.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (John) Drozdz; and two grandchildren, Corey and Monica Drozdz; and his twin sister, Shirley Richardson. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Terry Watson.
