Salvatore Angelo "Sam" Marino

September 02, 1942 - September 06, 2018

Sam Marino was born in Niagara Falls, NY, to Mary Marra and Angelo Marino.
In 1966, he married Marcia Mayflower, they had two children, Shannon and Sammy.
Sam attended local schools and at age 16, when his father passed away, he took over the family dry cleaning business to help raise his four younger siblings with his older sister. In his early 20's, he entered the car business. His smile, strong work-ethic and charismatic personality served him well. He worked in various automotive sales and management positions for over 50 years and received numerous awards for sales performance.
Sam loved horse racing. In the late 80's and early 90's, he owned several race horses. His favorite horse was "French Fries To Go." After a race, he would go to the stable and feed her doughnuts, her favorite treat.
In 1999, Sam and his wife, Marcia, moved to Las Vegas, NV, where they have resided for the past 19 years. Sam loved people and quickly grew his family to include many new friends in Las Vegas. Sam is most remembered for his generosity and kind spirit, he could always be counted on to help a friend.
Sam is survived by his wife, Marcia Marino; two children, Shannon (Ronnie) Mokhiber and Sammy Marino; and four siblings, Annette Zavareei, Charles Marino, Patricia Marino, and Jean Marino. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Angelo Marino; and his brother, Joseph Marino.
A memorial service will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, Las Vegas, Nevada, 11:00 AM, Monday, September 10, 2018. A funeral service will be held at later date in Niagara Falls, NY.
Memorials or donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation (Tenaya Facility) or Southern Nevada Three Square Foodbank.

Dear Marino family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I give my condolences to the family. Salvatore lives in the loving memory of his family, friends, and God. God will not forget his charismatic personality and how much of a hard worker he was on this earth. May God be with his family and may God help them to find comfort and be strengthened during this time of grief. Here are some comforting thoughts from the bible found at Isaiah 25:8; John 5:28,29

I am saddened to learn of Sam's passing. I first met Sam when I was in high school at Bishop Duffy with Sam's brother, Charlie. Although Charlie eventually moved away, I was still friends with Sam and would bump into him over the years. May God comfort his family and friends in this time of sorry. Rest in Peace, Sam.
