Ryan James Farrell, of Niagara Falls, died on Monday, March 5, 2018 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was 27 years old.
Ryan was born with Down syndrome, but always thought of himself as any other kid. He was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Later, he attended the Heritage Christian Services Day Rehabilitation program. He loved being the caretaker for those in greater need than him.
He had a keen sense of humor, loved to play jokes on his family and friends. He enjoyed swimming, computers, DVD's, music, especially Michael Jackson. Ryan had a passion for taking pictures of his family and friends, whether it be with a traditional camera, smartphone or his iPad. All that knew Ryan knew his love for his chicken fingers and fries.
He is survived by his parents, Kevin G. and Rita M. (Scouten) Farrell; his brother, Ian "The B" Farrell (Coryn Hill); his maternal grandmother, Mary L. Scouten; his paternal step-grandfather, Richard Backlas; aunts and uncles, Douglas (Lisa) Scouten; Linda (late Larry) Edwards, Darlene (Alfred) Pawlikowski, Keith (Jane) Scouten, Michael (Tina) Farrell, Patty (Tony) Conte , Jeremy Farrell (Louann McClintock) and Carol Farrell (late Mark) Quarantillo. Also survived my many cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Byron Scouten; paternal grandparents, Jerry Farrell and Katherine Farrell Backlas; and cousin, Paul Edwards.
The family will be present Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, New York 14304. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 11 AM in Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. The interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
