Rufus C. Speck Rufus C. Speck, Jr., age 86, passed away on January 29, 2019. Born in Hempstead, TX, to the late Alma Mae (Morris) and Rufus C. Speck, Sr.
He spent his childhood in Texas raising chickens, herding cattle and racing stock cars. He joined the Air Force after graduating from high school and was a Korean War Veteran.
After his discharge, he lived in Niagara Falls, NY, where he raised his family. He was well-known in the area as a domestic and foreign car mechanic. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping and fixing anything with a motor. He retired from Niagara Falls Air Base as a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor. He spent his last two years in Lockport Presbyterian Home surrounded by family and new friends, enjoying car races on television.
He is survived by a brother, Larry (Eyleen) Crain of Texas; three daughters, Kathleen (Gary) Gailie, Sandra (William) Singleton and Laurine (Anthony) Stamborski; predeceased by two sons, Carl A. and David H. Speck.
There will be a private family memorial.

Megan, Sean, Evan and I send our condolences to Jean, Kathy, Sandy, Lori, and their extended families. I have fond memories fishing with Carl in Olcott, Lake Ontario, and Niagara River. He was a good fishing buddy and I enjoyed spending time with him.
