Robert J. Dolecki of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, under the care of Niagara Hospice. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on July 22, 1938, the son of the late Joseph and Celia (Kubacki) Dolecki.
Mr. Dolecki graduated from McKinley Vocational High School and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Norris form 1956 to 1958. He moved to Niagara Falls in 1967 and began his career with the Niagara Falls Police Department, where he became a Detective before retiring in 1987. Mr. Dolecki was a process server for Niagara County for many years. He was a member of the W.A.R.P., the Western New York Association of Retired Law Enforcement Personnel and the Niagara Falls Police Retirees Association. Mr. Dolecki loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also enjoyed traveling to Arizona, golfing and going to breakfast with his buddies.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Caroline L. (Pellechia) Dolecki; sons, Ronald (Sherri) Dolecki, Jr. and David Galway; daughter, Yvonne (Gary) Farnham; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Lindsay, Tim, Megan, Clint, Megan, Daniel and Lilly; also six great-grandchildren. Mr. Dolecki was the father of the late Joseph Dolecki and Todd Galway.
His family will be present on Wednesday from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services with military honors will be held at 7 PM with the Rev. Patrick J. Bradley officiating. Internment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
