Robert Lee Tipton, of Ransomville, NY, passed away on March 23, 2016, in Lockport Memorial. He was born on December 11, 1930, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of the late James A. and Berdetta (Dunmead) Tipton.

Mr. Tipton served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as a Steamfitter for Local #22 until his retirement. Robert was an avid fishermen and enjoyed camping. He was a pilot and owned an airplane, which he took many trips in. Robert was a Civil Air Patrol Pilot in Florida and was a member of the American Legion 1451 and the Ransomville Mason's Lodge 551.

He is survived by his significant other Madelyn J. Stevens and his brother Gilbert (Martha) Hovell.

Private funeral services were held at the wishes of his family.

Memorials in his name may be made to the American Heart Assoc. and the American Lung Association.
