Robert J. LaVerdi, Jr., 45, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 25, 2017 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, he is the son of Robert J. LaVerdi, Sr. and the late Patricia 'Patty' (Cicero) LaVerdi; and the step-son of Carol Gates.
Rob moved to California at age three and graduated from Monta Vista High School. He worked for a time in a veterinary office and also at the family pizzeria, Cicero's Pizza. In 2006, he moved back to Niagara Falls to be closer to his extended family. He worked for Modern Disposal for the past 11 years and loved his job. Rob enjoyed videography and video editing. He could also photo shop anything, some very creative and funny stuff, too. He had a great sense of humor and was quite the practical joker. He enjoyed playing golf, hockey and baseball. He also had an uncanny knack for remembering numbers, birthdays, anniversaries and sports statistics. He was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan his entire life. He loved the Bills almost as much as he loved his family.
In addition to his father and step-mother, he is survived by his siblings, Nicki LaVerdi, Kristi Acoba (Tyrus) and Charlie LaVerdi ( Maura); step-brother, Josh Dillard; grandmother, Shirley LaVerdi; two nieces, three nephews; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Pauline Poanessa; maternal grandfather, Nunzio Cicero and his paternal grandfather, Donald LaVerdi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24th from 3-6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will follow at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Andy Dalton foundation, andydalton.org.
