Robert F. 'Bobby' 'The Tin Man''s Story
Robert F. 'Bobby' 'The Tin Man' Hendricks passed from this earthly life on Tuesday September 19, 2017 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 13, 1935 the only child of the late Francis A. & Genevieve (Kenney) Hendricks.
He graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School and then entered the U.S. Army serving from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1964. He was a 1969 graduate of Niagara County Community College and then graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1973 from Niagara University.
Bobby's career in the printing industry began with his employment with several local companies including Moore Business Forms, Colorforms and Nitec serving as a printer and Supervisor in the testing laboratory.
His true passion was photography. He served a Tin Type Camera apprenticeship under John Coffee for several years and in 1998 at Gettysburg he began his vocation earning him the title of 'The Tin Man.' He continued taking tin type photographs up until two weeks ago.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dawn (Neidrauer) Hendricks; and beloved children, Marie Lynn (Rick) Kondakor of Trinity, FL and Mathew Robert Hendricks of the Town of Niagara; five grandchildren, Janae, Frank, Tammi, Faith and Ricky. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bobby was predeceased by two daughters, Ellen May Hendricks in 1958 and Deborah Lee Thompson in 2014.
Family will be present on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted on 11 AM Monday in Niagara Presbyterian Church, Military Road & Lockport St., Town of Niagara with the Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT THE CHURCH. Burial with Military Honors will be held immediately following the service in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Town of Lewiston.
