Richard W. Wilkinson, 79, of Ransomville, NY, husband of Mary Skene Wilkinson, entered into rest on February 15, 2019 in Ocala, FL.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 4, 1939, he was the son of the late William and the late Dorothy Schacht Wilkinson.
He graduated from Lewiston-Porter in 1958. Mr. Wilkinson married Mary R. Skene on June 11, 1960. He served in the U.S Army Reserve and New York Army National Guard for a combined 40 years of service.
Richard was a truck driver employed by Ashland Oil Co. and Relco Trucking. He was an active exempt member of the Lewiston #1 Fire Co. and loved watching and attending auto racing at Ransomville, Volusia and Daytona Speedways.
Surviving is his wife, Mary; his children, Jeffrey (Shelly) Wilkinson and Pamela (Tim) Phillips; his sisters, Marilyn (late Harold) Rinehart and Linda Mattison, Dale Mattison; four grandchildren, Erin and Kayla Wilkinson, also Emily and Kyle Phillips. Richard was predeceased by a son, Richard Wilkinson, Jr.
Family and friends may call TUESDAY (APRIL 2) from 4:00-7:30 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. A prayer service will immediately follow at 7:30 PM. Interment will be at a later date in Riverdale Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be sent to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094; St. Paul's Episcopal Church, PO Box 354, Lewiston, NY 14092; or Lewiston #1 Fire Co., PO Box 748, Lewiston, NY 14092.

I remember Wilky from the mid 80's at the Niagara Falls Armory with E Co 152nd Engr. Bn. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.

I had the honer of serving with SFC E-7 Richard W. Wilkinson in Co E 152 Eng. Bn. 901 Main St. Niagara Falls Armory NYARNG. He was a excellent Soldier and treated everyone fairly. He will be missed by me and many others that knew him. RIP Soldier.
