Richard D. Mietlicki, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at home under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 16, 1930, he was the son of the late Michael and Helen (Mojeski) Mietlicki. Richard was an Electrician for 42 years at Hooker/Occidental Chemical Corporation. After retiring, he enjoyed farming, gardening, and hunting.
He is survived by his four daughters, Christine A. (Jack) Bednar, Suzanne Mietlicki, Margaret Marchetti and Stephanie (Frank) Smith; grandchildren, Amanda (Jay) Burnside, John, Andrew Bednar, Jennifer Adams, Angela (Gus) Tome, Christina (Chris) Johnston, Brianne (Jeremiah) Collins, Regina, Deanna, Victoria, Mark, Angelo Marchetti, and Catherine Smith; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Tim) Zetell; and brothers, Frank (Barbara) Mietlicki and Henry (Janet) Mietlicki. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Tekla H. (Miosga) Mietlicki; brothers, Chester, Edward; sisters, Helen, Mary, Lottie, Pearl, Irene, Natalie and Delores.
Friends may call on Thursday, November 9th from 3-8 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th Street, cor. of Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY 14303. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 10th at St. Vincent DePaul (St. Leo's), 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jeffrey L. Nowak officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094-1231.
