Richard A. Boccanera

Richard A. Boccanera, 66 years old of Youngstown, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He was born in Niagara Falls on March 30, 1952, the son of Norma (Fabrizio) Boccanera and the late Anthony M. Boccanera.
Rich attended Mt. Carmel Parochial School, Bishop Duffy High School and graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He served with the United States Air Force Reserves from 1970 until his honorable discharge in 1976. He was the former owner of Bragg's on Ferry Avenue and was the former owner of Mr. B's Restaurant on Hyde Park Boulevard. He most recently was employed as the General Manager of the Western Door Steak House at the Seneca Niagara Casino. Rich enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing and spending time at his hunting cabin. He was a member of the 3F Club.
In addition to his mother, Rich is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janice (Alcuri) Boccanera; his brothers, Michael Boccanera and Mark Boccanera; and his sister, Barbara (Bill) MacKendrick; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Seefeldt.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Mt. Carmel, 2486 Grand Avenue with Rev. Stewart M. Lindsay officiating. In lieu of flowers those wishing to remember Rich in a special way are asked to consider making a contribution in his memory to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Elm and Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263.
