Regina "Jeanne" (Bentley) Goodwin, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 in Northgate Manor. She was 88. She was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Flaherty) Bentley. She attended schools in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1947.
Jeanne and her husband, William "Bill" enjoyed their many friends at their summer home in Restoule, Ontario, Canada for more than 40 years. She was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Church and the Home Bureau and she loved music, swimming, painting, bowling and attending hockey games with her friends and family. Jeanne was so very proud of her children and their families. Her art was acclaimed at Northgate Health Care Facility where she thrived for the last seven years of her life.
She is survived by three children, Kathleen (Brian) Sparks of Springdale, Arkansas, Michael (Eugenia) Goodwin of Portland, Oregon and Laurel (Charles) Honza of Rogers, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Marisa (Steve) Miller, Shane and Brianne Goodwin and Brandon and Emily Norris She is also survived by her brother, John "Jack" Bentley and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, William on April 22, 2012 and two siblings, Thomas "Tom" Bentley,Jr. and Mary Fulson.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 PM. Burial will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston. If desired, donations may be made in Jeanne's name to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, New York 14094
