Peggy A. Whitmire

April 25, 1953 - December 06, 2017

Peggy A. Whitmier, 64, of Grand Island, NY, has passed on December 6, 2017, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Eileen and the late George Minton.
Peggy graduated from Grand Island High School in 1971 and was known for her caring and giving heart. If one word was used to sum up her life, it would be servant. She had a servant's heart, always willing to help those in need. Her faith in her Lord and Savior was strong. No matter what the situation was, Peg always trusted in God. It was this trust and faith in God that would shine through daily as she battled the horrible disease, cancer. There was never a doubt in her mind, even when the cancer took over her brain, that she was going home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She leaves behind a legacy of faith and love.
Loving wife of Rick; beloved mother of Scott (Kelly), Jennifer (Robert) Galvano, Daniel (Jennifer) and Rick (Keri) Whitmire, Jr. Survived by nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; sister of Kathleen (Rick) Watson, Barbara, Paul (Mary), Peter (Michelle) Minton; also several nephews and a niece, along with many 'adopted' family who knew her as Mom Whitmire or Nana Peg.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 PM at the DENGLER, ROBERTS, PERNA FUNERAL HOME, 3070 Delaware Ave., Kenmore. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service from the Bible Fellowship Center, 1136 Baseline Rd., Grand Island on Saturday at 9 AM.
