Pauline Thomas Doerner, 94, passed away on March 21, 2017. Born December 26, 1922 she was a Tuscarora Native American raised on the Tuscarora Nation and attended the Thomas Indian School. A Buffalo~Niagara Falls Bryant and Stratton graduate, she became a successful lawyer's secretary. She met and married her husband Robert Doerner from Buffalo, NY. After traveling the USA, they settled in Fabius-Pompey, NY raising a family of six children. She enjoyed her friends and adored children, several grandchildren and great~grandchildren, crossword puzzles, coupons, attending Pompey United Church, NY, gardening, canning vegetables and fruits from the garden, tending to flower beds, and reading mystery books, etc. Her laughter will be missed.
In 2012, she lived the rest of her life with her granddaughter and family in Marshall, NC.
She is predeceased by her late husband Robert Doerner in 2001, Sallie Thomas( mother of her 7 siblings) Chief T, Chief Casper Peters (her Uncle), and Chief Marcus Peters(Polly's grandfather) includes: Grant Thomas (brother) and Myra Thomas (sister) who lived to adulthood. She is survived by her nieces Lucy Ann Thomas and Rhonda Patterson-Tara with several cousins and friends from the Iroquois Nations. Her children and their families of Sherie (George) Chrysler, Vicie (Rick) Nowland, Candee (Mark) Chrysler, Marlene Musarelli (Tom) Davis, Glenn and Kenneth Doerner.
