Paul Bane, of Niagara Falls, died on Monday, January 8, 2018 in Our Lady of Peace, following a brief illness. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on July 12, 1926, the son of Joseph W. and Harriet (Brumfield) Bane. He proudly served in the US Navy during WW II.
Paul worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as an insurance salesman. Later, he worked for various printing companies. In 1990, he retired from the Niagara Falls Board of Education. He was an avid sports fan, especially the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed bowling and lawn bowling. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM;.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Ruth (Dashineau) Bane in 2008; and late son, Paul Bane, Jr. Survivors include two step-children, Jeffrey (Joyce) Schmidt of St. Petersburg, FL, and Glenn (Sharon) Schmidt; his son, Gerald Bane of Niagara Falls; a granddaughter, Jaime Lynn Schmidt (Michael Fasso); the "adopted" grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas and Dominic Stott; a special niece, Kathy (Doug) Lapp. Also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.
Private services were held today in Riverdale Cemetery.
