Patty's Story

Patty passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 after a lengthy illness under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. She was born on September 14, 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Marlin and Marie Cramer.
She graduated from Niagara Wheatfield Senior High School in 1973 in business. She went on to get her Associate in Applied Science Degree in accounting from Niagara County Community College.
Patty worked for the Town of Niagara Town Hall in various capacities, including account clerk for the highway and building departments. Patty was the Deputy Tax Collector for the Town of Niagara and Tax Collector for the Niagara Wheatfield Central School District.
She took great pride in serving the residents of the town for 35 years, winning an award in 1996 for recognition of her efforts, above and beyond the call of duty, for her work at the Town Hall. A lifelong and active member of Niagara Presbyterian Church in the Town of Niagara, Patty held positions of Moderator of Deacons, Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Church Secretary.
She is survived by her sisters, Rebecca (Gary) Ashby and Terry (Rick) Gilkerson; brother-in-law, David (Rosie) Beck of Indiana; nephews, Thomas and David Ashby; and niece, Charlene (Eric) Mitchell; a great-nephew, Sean Mitchell; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Judy Beck.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in Niagara Presbyterian Church, 3712 Military Road, Niagara Falls. The interment will be private in Acacia Park Cemetery.
