Patrick Michael Donovan
Patrick Michael Donovan, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at home. He was 77. He was born in Niagara Falls on December 30, 1941, the son of the late Kenneth and Anne (Sessler) Donovan.
Patrick attended local schools and was part of the first graduating class of Niagara Wheatfield High School. As a young man, he worked on the Niagara Power Project. He began a long career with Carborundum Abrasives in 1965 until his retirement in 2003. He also was part owner of the former B Bar on Buffalo Avenue.
A very hard worker, he always was there to lend a helping hand to friends in need. He loved to socialize with family, friends and riding his 1984 Harley. Patrick liked The Blues and was an avid Sabres and Bills fan.
He is survived by his long time companion, Karen Anne Certo; a daughter, Doris Donovan of Sarasota, FL; two grandchildren, Carrie Ann Bagg (Dan Merkle) of Brockport, NY, and Jennifer Bagg (Bryan Cooper) of Knoxville, TN; a one-month-old great-grandson, Jamison Cooper; son-in-law, Thomas Bagg of Knoxville; his first cousin, Becky Thompson of Burt, NY; and an aunt, Sally McKinley of Farmington, Maine. He was predeceased by a daughter, Maureen Donovan Bagg, in 2009; and an infant brother.
The family will be present Wednesday, October 9th from 3-7 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. The interment and services will be held privately.
