Michael J. Scrivano, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 8, 2018. He was born in Niagara Falls on September 29, 1928, son of the late Frank and Virginia (Granada) Scrivano.
He attended area schools. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War as Staff Sergeant. During the inauguration of former President Truman, he played for the Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1142 and the DAV.
Mr. Scrivano had a 47-year career with Nabisco Shredded Wheat. He worked in the shipping and receiving department and was the Chief Union Steward of BCTGM. He had many interests including, playing the harmonica, loved wood working and cherished the moments spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Loretta (Foggia) Scrivano; a son, David Scrivano; a granddaughter; and eight siblings. Survived by three children, Lorraine (Richard) Rimer of New Jersey, John F. (Barbara) Scrivano of the Town of Tonawanda, Michael J. (Denise) Scrivano of the City of Tonawanda; his daughter-in-law, Vicki (Richard) Ackerson of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. Private services will be held Thursday with Military Honors.
Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice.

Words can't truly express how sorry I am for your loss! Mike was a great man and I will miss being able to make him laugh and making him his poached eggs!!

Prayers and condolences to the family. Mike was a fun and loving man. I will remember him fondly. Rest In Peace β€œMick”. Now you can dance with Loretta!! And say hi to Dave and Paul.
