Mary A. Sullivan, 90, of Lewiston, NY, a devoted mother, grandmother and wife, who believed nothing was more important than family, died on Monday, October 9, 2017 after a long illness. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 14, 1927.
A graduate of Niagara Falls High School, Mary was a co-owner, along with her husband Patrick Sullivan, of Sullivan's Charbroil Hot Dog Stand, a famous local restaurant on Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls. Before that she worked for nine years at Niagara Permanent Savings Bank in Niagara Falls.
An avid golfer and tennis player, she was a member of Niagara Frontier Country Club for over 50 years. Mary was also an active member of the Lewiston Service Guild, the Lewiston Garden Club, the Lewiston Historic Society, and the Old Fort Niagara Association.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 59 years, Patrick Sullivan; her father, Frank Marra; and her mother, Anna Micale Marra. She is survived by her daughter, MaryAlice Trbovich, Williamsville; and her son, Edmund Sullivan, Los Gatos, CA; as well as two brothers, Joseph Marra, Niagara Falls, and Albert Marra, Clarence. She also is survived, by her son-in-law, Thomas Trbovich; her daughter-in-law, Daniella Peck Sullivan; four grandchildren, and ten nieces and nephews. Mary will be missed.
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 21st at 10:00 AM in St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with Rev. Msgr. David LiPuma officiating. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the American Stroke Association.
