Mary J.'s Story
Mary J. (Pullano) Gigliotti, 93 of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on October 18, 2017 at Elderwood at Wheatfield Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Rose (Marino) Pullano.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. On May 18, 1946, she married Angelo A. Gigliotti at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Gigliotti predeceased her on July 21, 2006. Mary began her career in retail at the former Bier's Department Store on Old Falls Street in Niagara Falls, and later went on to work at Reed's Jewelers at the Summit Park Mall until her retirement. Mary was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph's Church as well as a member of their Ladies of Charity and Madonna Soccorso Society. She was also a member of the Women's Cristoforo Colombo Society in Niagara Falls and a volunteer for Our Lady of Angels Association of Niagara University. Mary was a wonderful baker and avid reader, but her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Dr. Carol (Noel) Leary of Longmeadow, MA, Deborah (John) Korzak of Niagara Falls and LuAnn (Anthony) Mastrolembo of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Brian (Pamela) Korzak, Andrew (Jackie) Korzak, Lisa (Matthew) Wilkinson and Tara (Jeremy) Bucchi; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Owen, Brady, Ethan, Adriana, Brandon, Blake and Cole; one brother, Nicholas (Jane) Pullano; her dear friend, Carol Martino; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one brother, Louis Pullano.
Mrs. Gigliotti's family would like to thank the entire staff of Elderwood Health Care Facility for the kind and compassionate care Mary received.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 21st at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph's Church 1413 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings in Mary's memory may be made to Our Lady of Angels Association, PO Box 1918, Niagara University, NY 14109 or Bay Path University, 588 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106.
