Marlene Ann Adams

Marlene Ann Adams passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, while holding the hand of her husband of 70 years and surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born on October 17, 1934, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, she was the daughter of the late Geraldine (Parkhill) Pasell and John Thompson.
A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, she attended the Loretta Academy in Niagara Falls, Ontario. At the age of 14, she married Martin Adams, Jr., on October 23, 1948, whom she met while he was working for her father's ice company. Their extraordinary marriage was featured in the New York Times.
In her youth, Marlene could be found every Saturday night roller-skating at the Rainbow Rink in North Tonawanda with her cousin, Sonny Parkhill. She loved to travel and enjoyed boating along the Niagara River with her husband for many years. Together they were longtime members of the LaSalle Yacht Club and the Niagara River Yacht Club. She also was an avid doll collector. Marlene's family has been very blessed to have such a wonderful woman in their lives.
In addition to her husband, Marlene is survived by five children, Martin III, Michael (Trisha), Marla, Matthew (Ann Marie), Melissa (Howie) and was predeceased by her son, Mitchel. Her great joy was spending time with her 13 grandchildren, Michael Jr. (Rachel), Jennifer (Sal IV), Andrea, Jason, Katie, Jessica (Mike), Danielle (Brian), Amanda (David), Melanie, Sarah, Madison (James), Spencer, Sydney, along with her eight great-grandchildren, Angel, Alaynah, Salvatore V, Abby, Amelia, Zachary, Giovanni and Kevin Jr. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
