M. Jeanette's Story
M. Jeanette Sankes, age 95, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away in her sleep on August 18, 2017.
While living in Niagara Falls, she loved LaHacienda, Ted's Hot Dogs, shopping, and looking at all her flowers. In Florida, she loved seeing her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, shopping, cards, reading, and visiting with her friends.
Jeanette was born on June 20, 1922, the daughter of the late Walter and Florence (Zimmerman) Wendt. Her husband, Stanley, predeceased her in 2002. Her bubbly personality and her wit, even at the age of 95, made it a joy for family and friends to be with her. She was the best mom you could wish for.
Jeanette was predeceased by her sister, Alice (Wendt) Wiseman; and brother, Robert Wendt. She is survived by her two sons, Gary Sankes (Heidi), Todd Sankes (Sharon); a brother, Roger Wendt; five grandchildren, Josh Sankes, Matthew Sankes, Tyler Sankes, Jason Sankes, and Karen Sankes-Ritland, eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 875 Eggert Dr., North Tonawanda, NY on Saturday, September 16th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14034.
