Lucy's Story

Lucy Marie Taibi, 95, a Niagara Falls native and former resident of Lewiston, died on Sunday, July 30th at her home in Davie, FL following a short illness. She was surrounded by the loving family she created at the time of her death. Lucy was born on August 10, 1921, in Niagara Falls. She graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1940.
Lucy was married to James T. Taibi, who predeceased her. They resided in Lewiston and raised three children, daughters, Lynda (James) Hinckley, and Elaine (Robert) Aaron; and a son, David (Barbara) Taibi. Lucy is also survived by her brother, Joseph Saia of Lewiston NY; eight loving grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 2401 S. University Drive in Davie, FL on Thursday, August 3rd from 4:30-8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 4th at 11 AM at St. David's RC Church, 3900 S. University Drive in Davie, FL. Lucy will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery beside her husband of 52 years. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, local offices of the Salvation Army, or local hospice organizations would be welcomed.
