Lawrence's Story

Lawrence K. Morehouse, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on April 15, 1945, the son of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Trulin) Morehouse.
Mr. Morehouse was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School. Mr. Morehouse began working with Dorey Hill at her stables, where they began a long time friendship, which lead to him becoming involved with the United Cerebral Palsy for over 20 years, before retiring in 2010. He was actively involved at Immaculate Conception Church in Ransomville, serving as president of the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his wife, Karon L. (Mackey) Morehouse; two daughters, Monica (Charles) Shelvay of Buffalo, NY and Michelle (David) Brown of Locke, NY; one brother, Michael Morehouse; one sister, Karen (Chuck) Aris. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; one great-grandson, Noah; and many nieces and nephews.
His family will be present on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY, with the Rev. James R. Bastian officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to Immaculate Conception Church or to the SPCA of Niagara. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
