Laura V. (Jakubowski) Dolansky, 98 years old, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice. She was born in Niagara Falls on September 6, 1918, the daughter of the late Matthew and Veronica (Najewski) Jakubowski.
Laura attended local schools and was employed as a production worker at Invenex for 10 years retiring in 1983. She enjoyed playing bingo and card games, working on crossword puzzles and polka dancing, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Laura is survived by her children, Richard Dolan, Martha (Stanley) Rzucidlo, Lucille Malvestuto and Barbara (Robert) Kendzia, all of Niagara Falls. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Laura is also survived by her sisters, Maryanne Mari, Katherine (Frank) Gregorski and Stephanie (Charles) Boos and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Henry and Richard Jakubowski and her sisters, Genevieve Kasprzak, Jennie Sayers, Sophie Walaszek and Rose Maj.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 until 8 pm at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road where funeral services will begin at 9 am on Monday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 259 Fourth Street with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston. Friends wishing to make a memorial donation in Laura's honor are asked to consider Niagara Hospice.
