Kevin 'Gopher''s Story
Kevin 'Gopher' Manning, 61, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at home. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on February 6, 1956, the son of the late Roy and Doris (Bartlett) Manning.
Affectionately known to many as 'Gopher', he was a graduate of the former LaSalle Senior High School, Class of 1974. Kevin was employed by the Laborers Local 91, retiring in 2015. He also worked at Sammy's Pizzeria and had his own side business of removing trees.
Gopher was quite the character, he always enjoyed having fun. He was the life of party and the type of person one would never forget. He enjoyed watching NASCAR Races.
He is survived by his wife, Beth (Vandeburgh) Manning; two children, Cody Manning of Niagara Falls and Erin (Brian Tiemann) Manning of Leander, TX; siblings, Gary (Brenda Sharpsteen) Manning of Clarence, NY; Rick (Sue) Manning of Phoenix, AZ; Terry (JoAnn) Manning of Niagara Falls; Gwyn Manning of Fairview Park, Ohio; sister-in-law, Jackie Manning of Hernando, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, Kevin and his brother, Glenn Manning.
Family present on Sunday from 3-6 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where the Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch will conduct services at 6 PM. The interment will be private in Riverdale Cemetery.
