Joseph A.'s Story
Joseph Andrew Kopczynski, age 89, was called to his heavenly home on March 2, 2018, in Niagara Falls, NY. He was a lifelong resident, born August 11, 1928, son of the late Jozef and Mariana (Szypula) Kopczynski.
After graduating from Niagara Falls High School, he served in the United States Army. He married Helen F. Nori on February, 11, 1956 and they remained happily married for 62 years until his passing.
Joseph went on to graduate from Kelly Business Institute. After a 30-year career at DuPont he cooked in various restaurants for another 25 years. He was a licensed beautician, a master baker and a longtime usher in the Catholic Church. He enjoyed baking, movies and playing the organ. He was a gentle, kind and compassionate man who people young and old were naturally attracted to.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Helen (Nori) Kopczynski; three children, Alan, Randy (Kim), and David; five grandchildren, Jesse, Karly, Stosh, Sara and Alexandra, and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana and 10 siblings Charlotte: Helen, Katherine, Genevieve, Jane, Gertrude, Teddy, Frank, William and Chester.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC, 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Thursday from 5-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 Military Road. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Lewiston.
