John J. Telatnik, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 22, 1935 he was the son of the late George and Julia (Rodak) Telatnik.
A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, he attended local schools and Niagara University. John worked for Loblaws Supermarkets for a number of years, before becoming the cost accountant for Life Technologies on Grand Island. He worked as their cost accountant through the change of ownership and until his retirement.
He loved nature and was most in his element camping in the Adirondacks and numerous other mountain ranges. He also enjoyed gardening, was a consummate do it yourselfer and an avid reader, especially of history.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann Telatnik; brother, George (Mary L.) Telatnik; nieces, Christine M. Clendening, Mary B. Smith, Sarah A. Ambrosia, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary M.(Gizzarelli) Telatnik and sister, Mary Telatnik.
There is NO PRIOR visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 AM on Wednesday, December 20th at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Reverend Jacek Mazur officiating. Everyone, please assemble at the church. Burial in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown, NY, will take place at the convenience of the family.
