John R. Dillon of Niagara Falls, died on Thursday, February 15, 2018. He was 73. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 20, 1944, the son of John and Dorothy (Kline) Dillon. He attended area schools and was a graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School, Class of 1962. He served in the United States Army Reserves.
John had a long career with Occidental Chemical Company, retiring as a Supervisor after 35 years. An avid outdoorsman, John loved going to his camp, where he enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing. He was also an avid NY Yankees fan and a Pittsburg Steelers fan. He enjoyed relaxing watching the NASCAR races as well.
He was predeceased by his wife, Delores Dillon. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Smith of Wheatfield; step-children, Alan, Michelle, Gary and Bryan; dear caring friend, Linda Dillen; loving and caring aunt, Ellen; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all the loving staff of Mount St. Mary's Hospital in the ER and ICU during his illness, the first responders and John Jasper.
A time of gathering and celebration of John's life will be held Friday, February 23 from 12 Noon until 3 PM at the Jetport Restaurant, 7100 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., is handling the arrangements.
