John C.'s Story
Today would have been Jack's 69th birthday!
John C. Welsh, Jr., known to all as 'Jack', passed away suddenly on May 15th. He was born on July 6, 1948 to Minnie Jane and John Welsh, Sr. at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital.
After graduating from Niagara Falls High School, he joined the Army and served in Germany as a medic. Upon returning to the U.S., he started working for the City of Niagara Falls Water Department where he worked for many years. He was a bachelor who enjoyed many sports, especially golf and fishing. One of his favorite pastimes was hanging out with his friends. He had many buddies he called his "brothers from another mother."
He is survived by his sisters from Boynton Beach, FL, Mary Jane Gibbons and Bonnie Frazier. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Mike Gibbons and several nieces and nephews, Christine Engle, Courtney Roper, Kelli Przybyla, Brian Spillane, Scott Frazier; as well as eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
He will be memorialized on the Veterans Memorial Wall in Hyde Park, Niagara Falls (hopefully near our Dad's name that Jack placed there). His name will also be added to The Memorial Wall in the National Veterans Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
Happy Birthday, Jack! He was one of a kind and is missed!
