Joanne Marie's Story
Joanne Marie Paduano
Beloved Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin, and Friend
Joanne Marie Paduano, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on May 26, 2017 at Schoellkopf Health Center. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline (Simone) Paduano.
Joanne attended local schools and was a 1962 graduate of Madonna High School. An extremely talented singer and musician, in her early twenties, she set off for New York City to try her luck in the entertainment field. She was called back three times when she auditioned at the Apollo Theatre in New York City. The lure of home and family, however, eventually drew her back to Niagara Falls. Joanne was devoted to her family and friends. She was a very caring individual, who was always attentive to those needing her help. Over the years, she spent much of her time as a caretaker for several of her family members. Joanne was devoted to the Blessed Mother and could always be seen with the Holy Rosary in her hand or near her. If she was watching tv, she most likely was watching Mother Angelica or viewing a televised Mass. For several years, Joanne worked in the Maintenance Department at the Niagara Falls Board of Education.
Joanne is survived by her brothers, Edward, Joseph and Robin (Battistelli), and Paul; as well as nieces, Gina (Richard) Vallari, Lisa Valvo, Simone Paduano; and nephew, Anthony Paduano. Joanne is also survived by her Aunt, Celia (Simone) Granto. She will be sadly missed by all of her cousins. Joanne is predeceased by her aunts and uncles: Uncle Albert and Aunt Theresa (Troia) Paduano; Aunt Rose (Paduano) Salfi; Uncle Carmen Granto; Uncle Claude and Aunt Mary (Simone) Faiola; Uncle Donald and Aunt Victoria (Simone) Venturelli; Uncle Leo and Aunt Frances (Sgro) Simone; and sister-in-law, Barbara (Riggi) Paduano.
The family of Joanne Paduano would like to express its appreciation to the staff at the Schoellkopf Health Center, Third Floor, as well as to Hospice. In her typical spirit of giving and caring, Joanne has donated her body to the University of Buffalo for Medical Research. A Memorial Mass is being planned for a future date. Rest in peace, Ja.
