Jimmy A.'s Story
Jimmy Sacco, 81, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on December 14, 2017. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Josephine Franjoine and the late Eugenio Sacco.
Jimmy was employed with Great Lakes Carbon in research and development from 1969-1984. He served as a Niagara County Legislator for 18 years and as a Niagara County Democratic Committee Chairman for 6 years during the 1980s. Jimmy also served as the Town of Niagara Supervisor for 8 years and retired in 1996.
In his younger years Jimmy was involved with the NWAA Football Program and Boy Scout Troop #837. He was also a member of the ISDA Cataract Lodge #240 and enjoyed cooking for his family.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Sharon (Dall) Sacco, children, James A. (Mary Anne) Sacco II, Paul E. (Miriam) Sacco, Christopher A. (Sheryl) Sacco, Elizabeth (Brent) Stevens and Peter J. Stevens, grandchildren Anne Marie, Andrea, Jessica, James III, Erica, Dominic, Spencer and Isabella Sacco, Julia Stevens and Emily Bushardt, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth (late Elsio) Giannini.
Visitation will be on Monday from 3-8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 19th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leos Church Site, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Josephs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN. 38101.
