James F. Trane, 83 of Lewiston, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Leo and Pearl (Maule) Trane.
James was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. James held jobs at Radio Equipment Corp, Steele Electric, N Falls Paper Mill, Opportunities Unlimited and the Niagara Falls Police Dept. He was most proud of being on the Niagara Falls Fire Dept where he worked from 1961 until his retirement in 1978.After retirement he opened JT's Market Place Bar and Restaurant which he enjoyed operating with his wife Marie. In his later years he enjoyed being a homebody taking care of his house and lawn with an occasional trip to the casino to try his card counting skills at blackjack. He was always willing and ready to help friends and family if they needed anything.
James will be loved and forever missed by his two sons, Mark (Peggy) Trane, Robert (Kathy) Trane; two grandchildren, Michael Trane, Mark (Kelly) Trane; three great- grandchildren, Joshua, Emily and Sammy Trane; brother Phillip (Sheila) Trane; sister Mary Ann (Robert) Genovese; brother-in-law Joseph (Patricia) Ocejo and many other uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Marie; his son James Trane; and brothers, Frank Trane, David Trane, and Paul Trane.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Brookdale/Sterling House and Our Lady of Peace for all their loving care.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, May 24th from 10 am - 12 pm (Noon) at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm. with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
