James 'Jim' Duncan Mallam died February 3, 2018 at his home in Kennesaw, Georgia, following a brief illness. Jim was born on April 2, 1966 in Niagara Falls, New York.
Following graduation from Lewiston-Porter Senior High School, Jim earned a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from Paul Smith's College in Saranac, NY, and furthered his education in Hospitality Administration and Management at The Rochester Institute of Technology. After college, Jim worked for five years as a Convention and Executive Meeting Manager for Marriott International before joining Hooters of America where he worked for 23 three years, ultimately as Director of Franchise Operations. For the past two years, Jim was Director of Operations for JSN Development Group.
Jim was a devoted father; a beloved son, brother, and uncle; a loyal friend; and a respected manager and colleague. He loved spending time with his son, Jon, going together to sporting events and theme parks. In Jon's words, "He was a great dad."
In addition to his son, Jonathan, of Kennesaw, GA, Jim is survived by his parents, Whitney and Bonnie Mallam of Lewiston, NY; three sisters, Catherine Mallam of Havertown, PA, Laura (Joe) Barefoot of Raleigh, NC, and Elizabeth (Tim) Hare of Fuquay-Varina, NC; nieces, CJ Barefoot (Helen Grace Smith), Sarah and Elizabeth Joslin, and Olivia Barefoot; his uncle, David (Joanne) Mallam; former spouse, Linda Kuzma Mallam; and extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in Kennesaw, GA. Private committal and inurnment will be held at Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston, NY at the convenience of the family.
