James W. Conklin, Sr., of the Town of Niagara, died on July 6, 2018 in Northgate Manor Health Care Facility. He was 80. He was born in Burlington Township, Towanda, PA, the son of Edward, Sr. and Anna (Strope) Conklin.
He attended grammar schools in Niagara Falls and graduated from High School in PA. During high school, he worked at his grandparents dairy farm.
Jim was employed as a millwright for the former Union Carbide Company until its closing. He later worked for and retired from Harrison Radiator.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane Hall Conklin, in 1995. He is survived by three children, Debra Jean Miller of the Town of Niagara, John M. Conklin of the Town of Niagara, and Barbara Ann (late Thomas) Walters of North Tonawanda; his brother, Edward (late Jeanette) Conklin, Jr.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a son, James, Jr., and his wife, Karla Bartel; a brother, Norman Conklin; and two sisters, Jean and Patricia Seger; and a grandchild.
Family will be present Thursday from 2-4 PM, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. The interment and funeral services will be held at the Mountain Lake Cemetery, Burlington, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Parkinson's Association of WNY.
