Isabel A. DeRosa (nee Donia), 103, of Whitney Avenue, a seamstress for Tattler's Lane Bridal Shop, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home, Lewiston, NY. She was born September 23, 1914 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Bart and Vita (Cardone) Donia. Mrs. DeRosa was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On October 12, 1938 she married Thomas R. DeRosa in St. Joseph's Church. She was an employee of Tattler's Lane Bridal Shop for over 25 years retiring in the late 1970's. Mrs. DeRosa was a member of the I.S.D.A. Volare Lodge and the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Senior Citizens. Mrs. DeRosa, along with her husband, Thomas, was one of the founding members of Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Youngstown where she was past secretary. In 1962, Isabel along with her husband were made lay members of the Barnabite Order. Mrs. DeRosa was a professional seamstress who enjoyed painting, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. Isabel is survived by sons, Bart T. (Patricia) and Thomas R. (Bonnie) both of Niagara Falls, NY; her grandchildren, Douglas DeRosa of Richmond, VA, Deborah Gioannini, Martin DeRosa, Bart (Katrina) DeRosa, Kimberly (Brandon) Turner of Sarasota, FL and three great-grandchildren, Brittany DeRosa, Tamara Gioannini and Cooper DeRosa; also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her son, John B. DeRosa and her siblings, Anna (Sam) LoTempio, Sarah (Joseph) Bertani, Frances (Sam) Arnone, Donadell (Sam) Mancini, Antoinette (Angelo) Amantia and Elaine (Dominic) Mancini. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-8 PM at the Spallino-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Avenue, where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:15 AM and followed by the Rev. Duane A. Klizek celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (Niagara Falls). Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. Mrs. DeRosa's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence for their professional and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine or Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (Niagara Falls).
