Hazel A. Gardner

June 17, 1930 - October 07, 2018

Hazel A. Gardner Hazel A. "Dutch" (Mann) Gardner, of Niagara Falls, passed from this life on Sunday, October 7, 2018 peacefully at her daughter's home. She was 88. She was born in Glen Hope, Pennsylvania, on June 17, 1930, one of seven children, Thomas Mann, Jr; Bernard Mann; Dorothy Light; Lester Mann; Madaline Gardner, Margaret Roach and Verna "Honey" Round.
Hazel still had strong ties and connections to Pennsylvania, she was the youngest daughter of Thomas and Bertha (Folmar) Mann , living on the family farm.
She married Walter Gardner, Sr. and moved to Niagara Falls in the 1950's where Walter gained employment at Hooker Chemical Cooperation. Hazel was a stay at home mother and wife, top in her field. She raised her 11 children in Niagara Falls, David (Bonnie) Gardner, Darlene (Dennis) Sawyer, Walter Gardner, Jr; Diane (Robert) Gardner, Beverly (James) Kress, Karen Gardner, Jerry Gardner, Robert (Rochelle) Gardner, Cathy (Joel) Harris, Frankie (DeAnne) Gardner and Brenda Mitravich.
Hazel had a big heart and was always there for her family. She enjoyed playing board games and cards. She also enjoyed traveling to see her Pennsylvania, California, and Florida family.
She had 11 children; 32 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
When you went to visit her she always made you feel she had been waiting to see just you all day and now the day was complete. Her heart and home were always open. Hazel was compassionate and always gave great counseling and expert advice.
We will be forever grateful to have such a compassionate loving mother.
The family will be present Sunday, October 14th from 1-3 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM. The interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
