Grant Seraydarian, 89, passed away on August 6, 2017 in Yorba Linda, California. He was born in Astoria, Queens. In 1959, he married Vars (Garabedian) Seraydarian of Niagara Falls, and they lived in Queens until 1995 when they retired to Niagara Falls, New York. In 2013, they moved to California to live near one of their daughters and her family.
Grant is remembered having a kind heart and sincere desire to help others. He always had a gentle smile to share. He enjoyed many different activities including woodworking, camping, fishing and golf, along with many other sports. Grant also enjoyed building model airplanes and flying them at Reservoir Park.
Grant is survived by his wife of 58 years; daughters, Lillian Owens and Christina Dawson; five grandchildren, Megan, William and John Owens and Quentin and Brent Dawson. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law and their families; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the country.
Grant was a member of St. Sarkis Armenian Church in Niagara Falls. A memorial service will be planned at a future date. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care provided by Hospice during the past year and has asked that donations in lieu of flowers (with a reference in memory of Grant Seraydarian) be sent to St. Joseph Hospice, 200 West Center Street Promenade, Suite 200B, Anaheim, CA 92805.
