Gladys L. LaCivita, 97, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on December 31, 2017 at Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda, NY. Born in Birmingham, England on July 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence A. (Shaw) Branson.
She married Louis C. LaCivita in 1946 in Birmingham, England. Mr. LaCivita predeceased her on September 29, 2015. Gladys attended schools in England and Doyle Beauty School in Buffalo, NY. Gladys was a hairdresser in Niagara Falls for many years. She was also employed by Kimberly Clark, Nabisco Shredded Wheat, and as a hall monitor for LaSalle Senior High School, all in Niagara Falls. Gladys was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and Canadian Legion, where she enjoyed ballroom dancing wither her husband. She also liked knitting, and crocheting. Most of all, Gladys was a loving caregiver to her family.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Karen A. (Brian K.) Bovanizer; grandchildren, Todd M. Bovanizer and Scott D. (Casey) Bovanizer; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Dillon, Collin, Maddox, and Sebastian; as well several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband of sixty nine years, Mrs. LaCivita was predeceased by three brothers in England, Ron, Joe, and Harold Branson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-7 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5th at 11 AM. Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
